Hi to friends and brethren,

Myself and several other brethren in the Cincinnati East church and other Church areas as well, have been discussing some very, very serious situations in our church areas. There are numerous people in our various church areas, and all over the world, who are going through extreme suffering at this time. Several of these people are near death, or facing the possibility of death, and experiencing intense pain and suffering.

In looking at the prayer page on Mr. Kubik's page, www.kubik.org, you can see that there are people suffering with seizures, children with tumors, comas, painful bone cancer, a young mother with stage 4 Lymphoma, heart attacks, all manner and types of cancer, and people suffering with grief from the deaths of loved ones. It seems that everywhere we look, we find someone suffering a serious, debilitating illness.

We are all so busy with our hurry, hurry, rush, rush daily lives and it seems everything around us just consumes all our time. So a number of us are trying to make it a priority to spend more time in prayer and fasting for our sick brethren. Mr. Gary Antion gave a sermon during the GCE which hopefully many of you were fortunate to hear via phone hookup. He asked a question that made us all stop and think. Mr. Antion asked "Are you willing to suffer for each other?" That question has caused several of us to examine ourselves, and we have discussed among ourselves that maybe we aren't doing enough in regard to prayer and fasting for our sick brethren. In our group of friends, we have realized that, well...... we can do a lot better in this area of our Christian walk. We see a need in our own selves to change, and do a better job of loving each other and being "One" with each other. As we watch chaotic world events unfold around us, and society spirals downward and becomes more and more self centered, it brings to light more and more what we are all about. We have God and we have each other. That’s really it!

And that is the reason for this email. This next week and a half, between May 16 and 26, a group of us here in Cincinnati and surrounding areas are planning on setting aside a time to fast and pray for the sick and hurting in our church. Will you join hands with us in this effort? It just seems that the only way for us to ever be a "united" body of believers is if we reach out, join together, love each other and "suffer" for each other. No minister can do that for us. No President can do that for us. No Council of Elders can do that for us. WE have to do it with the help of God's Holy Spirit. Fasting next week, of course, is a personal choice and many I know have already fasted. This is simply an invitation for anyone interested to join with us in this effort. If you would like to do this, please forward this email to as many people as you can, and also our friends and relatives in other fellowships are welcome to join with us as well. Thank you so much!

With love, your Brethren in Cincinnati East
