From Jim Servidio, pastor of the Houston North, TX:

Over the years many of you have come to know Mr. Behrman Doucet, an elder here in Houston North, and his wife, Effie. On Monday, during a heavy rain storm, a large truck lost control and ran head on into the Ford Ranger Behrman was driving. The airbag deployed but his vehicle was demolished. Amazingly Behrman was able to get out of the truck on his own once the ambulance arrived, but does not remember anything thereafter until he woke up in the hospital.

Behrman suffered broken ribs, a punctured lung, a small fracture in his neck and some bleeding in the brain, most likely caused from the jolt rather than a direct blow to the head. He is presently out of ICU and doing fine, but at 81 years of age the doctors are watching him closely. It appears at this point that he just needs the time to recover and he is anxious to get home from Ben Taub Hospital here in Houston; hopefully in a few days. We are all very thankful to God that his injuries were not more serious. Pictures of his truck after the accident are startling. The driver of the other truck was unhurt.

The family wanted to share this circumstance with you and appreciates your remembering him. His address is below for those who would like to write.
