From Vince Szymkowiak, pastor, Rolla/St. Louis, MO; Fairview Heights, IL:

Conrad and Mary Bell, from St. Louis, Missouri, request your prayers on Conrad’s behalf.  Conrad had a triple bypass surgery December 14th and has been in ICU since then with several complications.  Currently, he has pneumonia and is unable to cough the fluid from his lungs, so periodically they must insert a tube to drain the fluid.  They have suggested performing a tracheotomy, but this could be dangerous due to his current weakness.  Another option is to simply put Conrad on a morphine-drip to alleviate pain, which would result in his eventual death.  Your prayers are requested that neither of these will be needed and that Conrad’s strength will increase so he can cough the fluid out on his own.  The family deeply appreciates the prayers that have already been offered on Conrad’s behalf, and thank you for your continued prayers.

From George Meeker, elder, St. Louis, MO:

Conrad Bell and his wife, Mary, of the St. LouisMissouri, congregation, request your prayers. Conrad is scheduled to have a triple, and possibly a quadruple, bypass.  He has had several strokes in the past, and there is a possibility that this surgery could trigger another stroke.  The doctors have also said his lungs are not very strong, which could result in pneumonia after the surgery.  Please pray for God’s intervention in preventing any complications with the surgery and his recovery following the surgery.
