From Vince Szymkowiak, pastor, Rolla/St. Louis, MO; Fairview Heights, IL:

Sherrie Giddens and her husband, Ralph, of the St. LouisMissouri, congregation, wish to thank everyone for their prayers for Sherrie. Sherrie had an appointment with the ear and skull surgery doctor last Thursday to check on the progress of the ear infection.  He had already made plans for surgery to remove the infection.  Much to the doctor’s surprise, the infection was gone and only a small amount of fluid remained in the ear.  She had also regained 10 per cent of the hearing lost (60 per cent) in that ear and will probably gain more over the next few days.  He told her that the stronger antibiotics she was on were only to keep the infection from getting stronger until the surgery.

Sherrie and Ralph are extremely grateful to everyone for their prayers and to God for healing her.

From Vince Szymkowiak, pastor, Rolla/St. Louis, MO; Fairview Heights, IL:

Sherrie Giddens and her husband, Ralph, of the St. LouisMissouri, congregation, request your prayers. Sherrie is suffering from mastoiditis in her right ear as a consequence of a middle ear infection she got shortly after the Feast of Tabernacles.  The infection has spread to the mastoid bone of the skull.  The mastoid bone fills with infected materials and its honeycomb-like structure may deteriorate.  Sherrie has already lost approximately 60% of her hearing in that ear. She has been on antibiotic treatments, but the infection still persists. If the infection continues to persist much longer, it will become necessary to perform surgery on the mastoid bone. The danger lies in that there is only a thin wall which separates the infection from the brain.  Some of the possible complications of this infection could be complete hearing loss, facial paralysis, destruction of the mastoid bone, meningitis, and/or spread of the infection to the brain or throughout the body.

Sherrie remains in good spirits knowing her healing is in God’s hands.  Please pray for God’s intervention to heal this infection and avoid the necessity of surgery.
