Grams was admitted to the hospital with such severe injuries that doctors
commented that they had not seen such injuries in a person who was still
alive. Joanne had 5 broken vertebra and a broken
collar bone broken ribs a broken leg below the knee in two places and a small
wound in her head that required stitches. Her lungs were torn from the chest
cavity causing a lot of internal bleeding. The doctors said they were amazed at
her rapid healing from such injuries. She had two surgeries and rapid
recoveries each time.
Joanne
went home on the 8th of October and is continuing to recover at home with her
family and thanks everyone for their prayers, cards, and calls. They were all
such an encouragement and inspiration to her during this time.

Grams suffered a serious accident while helping her husband fell a tree on
Sunday, September 2. A limb fell on her, breaking five vertebrae, her
leg, collarbone, ribs, and also giving her a concussion. The immediate
and critical danger is the injury to her chest cavity where the lungs were
severely bruised and torn away from the chest cavity. The chest cavity
continues to fill with blood and fluid and has to be drained. Her
condition at the moment is still critical. The neurologist said that this
was the worst spine accident to come into the hospital. We are asking for
prayers for the lungs to heal, which is the most critical and immediate
concern, and that there will be no debilitating outcome from the spine
injury. Joanne, a mother of three, is a member of the Toowoomba,
