From Roy Holladay, pastor, Chattanooga, TN; Rome, GA:

Ken Cass died from abdominal cancer Sabbath morning, September 15th.  Ken was known for his love for his family, enthusiasm for life and his love of the soil.

He spent his life from childhood to his final days growing and planting.  He spent more than 44 years as a hybridizer, helping to develop a strain of Daylilies that will grow and thrive in subtropical as well as cooler northern climates. He has more than three dozen cultivars named for registration, currently on trial. In addition, he hybridized in tropical hibiscus, having registered some to his credit.

Ken was a beloved member of the Ft. Myers, Florida, congregation and more recently of the Chattanooga, Tennessee, congregation.

He was baptized in1992 and Ken and his beloved wife, Roxie, were married for 58 years.  Roxie commented how encouraging all of the cards and letters from the members were to her and all of the family.  Your continual prayers are greatly appreciated by Roxie and her family.

Please pray for Ken Cass, 77, a member of the Chattanooga congregation.  Ken has a cancerous tumor in his abdomen that has spread to his colon and stomach and is greatly interfering with his ability to retain food.  He has lost considerable weight and is in a much weakened condition.   Please pray for Ken and his wife, Roxie, for his healing and their overall comfort and encouragement.
