From Greg Sargent, pastor, Kansas
City, KS; Columbia, MO:
Richard
Anthony has completed the radiation and chemotherapy for the cancer in his
throat. Following a doctor visit Wednesday, one lymph node remains, which is a cause for concern according to the doctors.
There will be a follow-up visit next Thursday, December 20th, to make a
decision on whether or not to remove the lymph node. The doctors indicate
that the radiation and chemo treatments continue to work for several months
after completion. Richard requests your prayers that the lymph node would
be gone by next Thursday, and that the proper decision would be made concerning
it and the possible surgery. Richard and Sara would like to thank
everyone for their prayers and cards which have been so encouraging and
inspiring for them.

From Greg Sargent, pastor, Kansas City, KS; Columbia, MO:
Richard
Anthony II, of the Kansas City, Kansas, congregation,
requests your prayers, as he has recently met with doctors regarding the
diagnosis of Squamous Cell Carcinoma. After
Rich and his wife, Sara Jo, met with doctors last Thursday they were told the
cancer is Stage 4 and has already reached several of the lymph nodes in the
right side of Richard’s neck. He will be going in very quickly to
have a feeding tube inserted to help him swallow during the heavy radiation
therapy to burn the tumors off the back of his tongue. The doctors
estimate the feeding tube will remain in for at least a year. Surgery is
not a good option at this point for Richard because he would most likely lose
his ability to speak and swallow for the rest of his life. Richard
is just 41 years old, and he and his wife have one son, Jorrin,
who is 11 years old. Please pray for Rich and the entire family to
get through this severe trial.

Please
pray for Richard Anthony, a member in the Kansas City,
Kansas, congregation, who was
diagnosed recently with a squamous cell carcinoma on
his larynx. He is undergoing more tests. Ask God to give
Richard wisdom as he will be counseling with physicians as to their recommended
course of action. Richard, his wife, Sara, and their 11-year-old son need
and appreciate the prayers of God’s people.
