From Lyle Welty, pastor, Cincinnati East, OH:

Your prayers are requested for Carole Gholson.  She has been receiving chemotherapy for months now, and recently she developed pain in her abdomen.  She assumed that it was a reaction to her chemo, but when the generalized abdominal pain became more specific, she realized it was her appendix.  She went to the hospital, and as the doctor was removing her appendix he discovered it had been leaking for some time.  Carole is in the hospital at present, and is still swollen and in considerable pain due to the infection.

Your prayers would be greatly appreciated for her healing and recovery.

From Peter Eddington, Media and Communications Services, Cincinnati, OH:

Carole Gholson, unfortunately, received some difficult news about her cancer recently. Her body has been responding very well to the treatment so far and the cancer cells have been shrunk, but the treatment will not take away the cancer completely. If she ever stops chemotherapy the cancer will grow very rapidly. The oncologist believes Carole's stage four cancer will require chemotherapy for the rest of her life. She's currently on an indefinite, three-week chemotherapy cycle.

God's healing can always change the situation, and she's looking for strength, encouragement and comfort through God's Holy Spirit and the prayers of our brethren. Both Carole and her husband, Lloyd, are prepared to deal with the situation, taking it one day at a time. Please continue to pray for the Gholsons.

From Peter Eddington, Media and Communications Services, Cincinnati, OH:

Carole Gholson, one of our Media and Communications Services employees who processes incoming international mail, has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Further tests have also revealed that it has spread to her lungs, and in addition there is a suspicious spot on her liver.

Carole would appreciate your prayers for her healing and God’s intervention. In addition, her husband, Lloyd, is taking the news very hard. They just celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary. They would also appreciate God’s guiding hand in the treatment being sought, and that the medical care given will be effective and appropriate for her condition. Overall, Carole has a very positive outlook on the situation, and feels that God has already encouraged her in so many ways.

Cards may be sent to Carole in care of the home office address:
