From Jack Hendren, pastor, Corpus Christi/Harlingen/Victoria, TX:

The Guerra family appreciates the prayers and the encouragement so many have extended to them since James Ryan was born.  December 20th was James’ first birthday and he is taking his first steps.  He enjoys playing with his older brother Marcus. James can be off the ventilator now except when he sleeps or has a cold. Thank you for keeping the family in your prayers.

From Jack Hendren, pastor, Corpus Christi/Harlingen/Victoria, TX:

The Guerra family thanks everyone for their prayers and the many encouraging cards and letters.  March 5th was a milestone for James.  Although he must still be on a ventilator, he was able to go home from the hospital.  Doctors familiar with James’ condition indicate the first several years are the most difficult.  As he gets a little older, it is hoped that he will only need breathing assistance when he sleeps.  The family requests your continued prayers as they make this transition going forward.

From Jack Hendren, pastor, Corpus Christi/Harlingen/Victoria, TX:

James Ryan Guerra, the month-old son of Gian and Natalie Guerra, was born with CCHS (Congenital Central Hypoventilation Syndrome).  Mrs. Guerra and her parents, Mark and Amalia Monsivais, are in the Corpus Christi congregation.

James is unable to breathe on his own while sleeping. He underwent a tracheotomy to make it easier and safer for him to breathe on a ventilator. The family requests that we pray for James’ healing and for the family to be strengthened.
