Morris Foster, member of East Texas, TX:

Ken Burgin and family would like to thank you all so much for your prayers and concern.

Ken was released from the hospital today, and is convalescing at home.

It is important that Ken is able to rest and recover.  The family requests no visitors until Wednesday.  Those wishing to visit Wednesday or after are asked to call the Burgin residence, 903-636-9124, first, to verify if Ken is up to a visit.

Please pray that Ken's blood pressure stays in the ideal range, and that he will have a thorough and speedy recovery.

Thank you all again for your outpouring of love, support, and prayers.

Ken Burgin is in very serious condition as he struggles to recover from his surgery this week to repair his dissected aorta.  This is a very serious open chest surgery.

All things considered,  he is progressing very well, but must be extremely careful not to compromise his need for rest and recovery.

Ken & Sharon and family GREATLY APPRECIATE your prayers, concern and visits.  God's intervention has been very obvious.

At this time, the family requests that only family and close friends visit so that Ken can have the opportunity to recover.

Anyone wishing to email a message may send it to  PATIENTEMAIL@TMFHS.ORG  The hospital will print your email message out and deliver to the Ken's room.  Or you may call 738-2616.

Thank you again for your continued prayers and concern.

I'm here at the Mother Francis ICU waiting room, and wanted to send a current update to everyone.

They plan to keep Ken in ICU until tomorrow so they can monitor his blood pressure, etc.  They are keeping his blood pressure below normal, so as to try to avoid any damage to the aorta.

Ken's color, and vital signs are good. : )    Although this has been a serious life threatening ordeal and he has been sedated a lot, when awake, Ken has been his usual mentally sharp self, and has made a lot of very funny observations and comments.

...He's his same ole funny self that we all love so much.  : )

Thank you all so very much for your prayers, support and concern.  They are appreciated so much by Ken, his family and his friends.

From Ken Treybig, pastor, East Texas & Texarkana, TX

I just received a phone call from Morris and Linda Foster asking for an urgent prayer request to be sent out. Their good friend Ken Burgin is in the hospital in Tyler (Mother Francis I believe). He went in this afternoon after having some terrible pains in his neck and chest. They just diagnosed it as a ruptured Aorta and are rushing him to surgery as quickly as possible. Obviously the condition is extremely life-threatening, and even the surgery carries a considerable risk, so the Fosters would appreciate your prayers for Ken.
