From Doug Johnson, pastor, Cleveland, OH; Meadville PA:

Linda Henderson had a more precise diagnosis recently, which gives her and her family a more positive outlook. In addition to the known difficulty of dysautonomia, she also deals with what is called “silent migraine syndrome” or just “silent migraines,” plus asthma. The silent migraines can come on without some of the usual migraine symptoms, but can be very severe.

The good news is that with such a diagnosis, the medication can be much more accurately prescribed. As she says, she has gone off all the “junk meds” (medications that do little or no good for her condition), and has been able to control the symptoms much better. She has been able to return to regular church attendance, and is even planning a trip to Florida in January to resume showing her horses (see “Horses That Keep The Sabbath” in the March-April 2005 issue of “The Good News”).

Thanks to all who have prayed for God’s intervention!

From Doug Johnson, pastor, Cleveland, OH; Meadville PA:

Linda Henderson, from Cleveland, would like to thank everyone for their prayers, cards, and concern.  She has improved greatly since the last request was made. Of course, the nature of the illness (dysautonomia) is that it can change rapidly from one extreme (either good or bad) to the other. But, she has been doing very well the last several days, and would like to thank all for remembering her.

From Doug Johnson, pastor, Cleveland, OH; Meadville PA:

Your prayers are requested for Linda Henderson, a member in the Cleveland, Ohio, congregation. Linda has suffered for some time from dysautonomia, a condition in which the body's involuntary systems (such as breathing, swallowing, etc.) do not function normally.

Linda has had several very difficult days (and nights) recently, and has had to go to the hospital numerous times in the past few weeks to try to regain her system's equilibrium. Wednesday night, she apparently aspirated into her lungs, causing a potentially serious problem with fluid foreign to the lungs. She is on a strong antibiotic for five days, at which time her doctors will evaluate the need for further hospitalization.

Please remember Linda, her husband Hal, and their family in this continuing and difficult health trial, asking God to intervene and give all of them the strength they need.
