From Rick Beam, pastor of Paducah, KY; Cape Girardeau/Poplar Bluff, MO:

Angela continues to recover well from her surgery of August 28.  Since her uterine cancer was classified as Stage III due to it having spread to at least 1 lymph node, a CAT scan was done on her lungs and chest Friday morning, September 15.  The results show no evidence of any cancer there.  At this point, we have reason to believe that the uterus and the 1 lymph node were the extent of the cancer.  Again, we want to thank everyone for the tremendous outpouring of love and support and we deeply appreciate everyone’s continued prayers.

From Rick Beam, pastor of Paducah, KY; Cape Girardeau/Poplar Bluff, MO:

Angela's surgery, on August 28, went well and she is recovering according to schedule.  Over 20 lymph nodes were taken out and tested.  We received the results Wednesday, September 6.  All were clear with the exception of one.  It contained cancer cells, so the cancer was not fully confined to the uterus.  Hopefully, it has not gone beyond this lymph node.  We had a doctor's appointment September 8, and more testing is set for this week to determine if any of the cancer has spread to the chest cavity.  Angela and I want to thank everyone for the tremendous outpouring of love and support during this time of difficulty and trial.  It means more than we can say.  Thank you for your continued prayers and we will keep you updated.

From Rick Beam, pastor of Paducah, KY; Cape Girardeau/Poplar Bluff, MO:

My wife, Angela, 53, was recently diagnosed with uterine cancer.  It appears to be in the earlier stages and confined to the uterus.  Surgery will be scheduled shortly at Vanderbilt in Nashville.  Angela and I would very much appreciate your prayers on her behalf.  Thank you for your love and concern.
