From Don Waterhouse, pastor, Columbia/Florence, SC; Augusta, GA:

Jennifer Elder is recovering in the hospital following her third brain operation to remove cancerous tissue. A recent MRI revealed suspicious tissue that prompted her doctor to perform another even more invasive operation to remove tissue from the membrane separating the two hemispheres of the brain. The doctor believes the paralysis to her right side is due to the trauma of this operation and will be temporary. Jennifer is very positive and recovering well.

From Don Waterhouse, pastor, Columbia/Florence, SC; Augusta, GA:

Jennifer Elder has had a set-back in her struggle with cancer. She had a second operation last week to remove another lesion from the same location as the previous brain tumor. The operation was successful. After the tumor was removed a chemo implant was inserted to destroy any remaining cancer cells. Partial paralysis occurred below the right knee due to the operation. Full use of her right lower leg and foot is expected to be restored once the swelling in the brain subsides. Jennifer is deeply appreciative for the outpouring of support from her brethren.

Jennifer Elder experienced weakness and partial paralysis in her right arm and leg last week. She was taken to the ER where tests and a scan were performed which determined that the aggressive cancer she has been battling has spread to her brain in the form of a 2.5cm lesion. She is scheduled for an MRI and consultation with a surgeon to determine which treatments are best. She is very grateful for the support and prayers of everyone and solicits your continued fervent prayers.

From Don Waterhouse, pastor, Columbia/Florence, SC; Augusta, GA:

Jennifer Elder, member in Florence, SC, had surgery June 30th to remove a portion of her liver that contained a tumor. Biopsies and various scans did not detect any evidence of cancer in the tumor or other areas of the liver. She is feeling very well during her recovery at home. She understands that chemotherapy and surgery can slow down or stop the growth of cancer—they do not heal it. She gives all the credit to God and truly believes He has healed her liver of the cancer.  Jennifer and her mother, Joan, deeply appreciate the fervent prayers, cards, letters and emails of encouragement that have come from the brethren.

Jennifer Elder, a member in Florence, SC congregation, recently had another CT scan to determine where to go from here concerning her recent cancer surgery. The test revealed that there is only one tiny spot left on her liver and no evidence of disease on the rest of the liver or the rest of her body. More accurate MRI and PET scans are scheduled for next week. After the final evaluation she is scheduled for surgery in a month to remove the affected part of the liver.

From Don Waterhouse, pastor, Columbia/Florence, SC; Augusta, GA:

Jennifer Elder, who is battling cancer, has received some good news from her surgeon. Using ultrasound technology the doctor detected that the breast tumor has shrunk from 12 cm to 4 cm and that the cancer under her arm in the lymph node appears to be cancer free. Jennifer was able to attend the Feast at Jekyll Island where she met several brethren who had been praying for her. She has been greatly encouraged by these personal contacts and the many cards she has received and the many prayers offered on her behalf.

From Don Waterhouse, pastor, Columbia/Florence, SC; Augusta, GA:

Jennifer Elder, a member in Florence, SC, has received some very encouraging news this week. The breast tumor has shrunk considerably, approximately 2.5 inches on the underside, 1 inch on the top and 1.5 inches on the side. During her exam and blood work on Friday her oncologist was greatly encouraged and attributed the shrinkage to the one chemo treatment she has received so far. Jennifer and her mother believe it is "nothing short of a miracle."  Your continued prayers are greatly appreciated.

From Don Waterhouse, pastor, Columbia/Florence, SC; Augusta, GA:

Jennifer Elder, a member in her early twenties who attends the Florence, SC congregation, has been diagnosed with breast cancer. A biopsy and ultrasound confirm that she has a carcinoma breast tumor and a secondary tumor under her arm. Aggressive medical treatment has been recommended including removal of the mass and radiation. Although shocked and devastated by the diagnosis she remains strong in faith toward God as her Healer. She and her fiancé were in the final stages of counseling and making plans to be married before the Feast of Tabernacles. Her parents, David and Joan Elder, are also members in Florence. Jennifer and her family appreciate all of your support.
