Elbert and Ruth Bailey would appreciate your prayers for an upcoming surgery. Elbert has not been able to get any relief from his diverticulosis, so he is scheduled for a colon resection (taking out the portion that is causing all the pain) on June 6. He is expected to be in the hospital 5-6 days and his daughters will be able to stay with him while he's there.

Ruth is still having trouble with Parkinson's, but the medication she's on seems to be helping as she does not shake as much. They are both very thankful for everyone's prayers.

Elbert Bailey, 73, of the East Texas congregation, has been suffering with diverticulitis for almost 20 years. It has flared up again and he had to have treatments to remove harmful bacteria from his stomach. The bacteria is now gone, but they were not able to attend the Feast this year and the diverticulitis is not much better. If it doesn't improve, the doctor is talking about doing a colostomy. In addition, his wife, Ruth, has been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. They live about an hour and a half from church and they are not able to attend every week, so missing the Feast was very disappointing. They would appreciate your prayers.

It doesn't seem to have worked, so he has another appointment with the doctor to check on another treatment.

If they cannot get this under control the doctor is talking about doing a colostomy. He and his wife live about an hour and a half from church and are not able to attend every week, so they are very disappointed they will now be unable to attend the Feast and would appreciate your prayers.
