From Bill Eddington, Australia:

Following the death of Australian elder Garry Barber, his wife Elizabeth has received an overwhelming number of cards from around the world.  She has been very uplifted and encouraged by the love shown in the kind messages sent to her.  She knows that God has heard and answered the many prayers offered on her behalf by her church family, and is most appreciative of this.  Heartfelt thanks to all the brethren for their concern.

From Bill Eddington, Australia:

Garry Barber, our elder in Hobart, Tasmania, died Thursday night.  Garry had been unwell for some time and very recently had been diagnosed as suffering from Motor Neurone Disease. People afflicted with MND usually have a life expectancy ranging from two to five years, but this was not so in Garry's case.  Mr. and Mrs. Barry Williams, close friends of Garry and his wife Elizabeth, left for Hobart today (Friday) and will stay to conduct the funeral service and comfort Elizabeth.

Garry had been a faithful servant of God and Jesus Christ and the members of the Church of God for many years and he will be sorely missed as a fine man, a friend, and a dedicated elder. Prayers are urgently needed for Garry's wife, Elizabeth, who is deeply affected by his sudden death.

Cards may be sent to Mrs Elizabeth Barber, PO Box 71, CAMPANIA TAS 7026; however, Elizabeth has asked that we do not telephone at this time.
