would like to thank all of the brethren for the outpouring of love through the
many cards she has received and for the assurances of prayers. It has been a
very humbling yet uplifting experience and she considers it one of the special
blessings of being part of the Body of Christ.
Even though the cancer is an open draining wound she has been free of
infection and the pain level has been kept down.

Gwen Bay
is a long-time member of the Church. About 15 years ago Gwen was diagnosed with
breast cancer. At that time she underwent both surgery and radiation therapy. About
three years ago she was again diagnosed with breast cancer. The doctor
encouraged Gwen to undergo surgery. She asked for a prognosis, and was told
that if she underwent surgery and chemotherapy immediately she could expect 12
-18 months. Because of other serious health problems, (including an inability
to take pain killers), she decided against that course, and determined to rely
completely on God’s will. For almost three years she has enjoyed relative
normality of life.
Over recent months she has found that the
cancer is growing quite quickly and has reached the skin surface. She is in
increasing pain and finds that she tires more easily. Gwen is in no doubt of
the inevitable outcome without God’s intervention. Her faith is strong and
unwavering and she is prepared to accept God’s decision in her life.
Gwen requests prayers on her behalf, that
God will give the help that is best for her in her present circumstance.
