From Mark Welch, pastor, Oklahoma City/Tulsa/Lawton, OK:

Novie Booker has been having a lot of pain since her back surgery.  Her surgeon told her that it is customary for those who have had major surgery like hers to experience excruciating pain for 6 weeks, 6 months, or even a year depending on how his/her body responds.  Novie has to be on very powerful pain medication to enable her to function and deal with the pain.  Please continue to remember her in your daily prayers, as she needs God's strength and intervention to help her cope with her ordeal. She has been improving some this week and is trying to take as little of the highly addictive pain medication as possible.  She greatly appreciates your love and concern for her and is approaching this trial with a positive, hopeful attitude and approach.

From Mark Welch, pastor, Oklahoma City/Tulsa/Lawton, OK:

Novie Booker made it through her back surgery just fine.  She is hoping to be released from the hospital on Sunday, July 27th.  If she can move around some they will release her.  She will need to be in a wheelchair for a while, but she will also gradually do some walking.  At first she thought she would not be able to walk for a couple months, but thankfully that is not the case.  Novie greatly appreciates all the cards she has received over the past several months.  They have been very encouraging and your prayers for her are being answered!

From Mark Welch, pastor, Oklahoma City/Tulsa/Lawton, OK:

Novie Booker will be going into the hospital for major back surgery on July 24th.  The doctors believe that in time she would be confined to a wheelchair if she did not have the operation.  She has been in nearly constant pain for the past several months and her condition has been worsening.  She has been told she will probably not be able to walk for a few months after the surgery.  Please pray for God's intervention, blessing and healing for Novie.

From Mark Welch, pastor, Oklahoma City/Tulsa/Lawton, OK:

Novie Booker, a member in Oklahoma City, requests your prayers for God's intervention and healing.  She has had debilitating pain in her back and neck for several years after a fall.  She is often unable to attend services and she often must leave services early when the pain becomes too excruciating.  She has sought medical help, but with little result. It has been a long trial for Novie and she is asking for relief and healing.
