From Herb Teitgen, pastor, SD, IA & NE:

Just before the Feast (9/29) Clarence Call, one of the deacons in our Sioux Falls, SD congregation, suffered a mild heart attack. He was taken to a local hospital and stabilized with a nitro patch. The doctor had him moved from an Iowa hospital to the Heart Center Hospital in Sioux Falls. He anticipated being treated with the angioplasty and a stint insertion technique. An angiogram revealed 5 significant blockages so he had quintuple bypass surgery. His heart rhythms were not responding well when his heart was restarted so a pacemaker was placed in his chest in a follow-up surgery. He is home now and is doing well all things considered. He has been very active considering his age of 78. He has been told that he must take it easy for several months. That will be a challenge but his wife Jane will remind him when he is tempted to overdo it. Please pray for a complete recovery for Clarence and a return to good health and service to our congregations in SD. Their address is:
