From Barry Williams:

This is to announce the death of Mrs. Pat Brew, who died on July 7, after her battle with cancer over the past two years. Her condition had deteriorated, and she spent the last eight weeks in a Hospice. During the last week she fell into a coma and did not regain consciousness.

Pat's husband Ken was at her bedside.

Both Pat and Ken were lifted by the cards and letters received from all over the world during this trial, and expressed their gratitude on numerous occasions. Your continuing prayers for Ken would be very much appreciated at this time.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday July 12, at 2.30pm.

From Barry Williams:

Updates: On September the 8th I posted prayer requests for Mrs Pat Brew, and Mrs Leslie Ricupito from the Melbourne East congregation. The following are updates on these ladies.

Pat and her husband, Ken, were absolutely amazed and delighted with the cards and letters she has received from all over the world. As she was unable to make it to the Feast she was especially appreciative of the love and concern she received in her mail on a daily basis. She has asked that her thanks be given to all in this form as she is physically unable to answer those who have written. While the medication has helped with the pain in the liver, she is in constant pain from the neck down through her left arm. She tires easily, and it seems that Pat's doctor is surprised that she is still alive. She remains constant in her belief that her life is in God's hands. Your continued prayers are requested for Pat and Ken.

From Barry Williams:

A little over a year ago Mrs Pat Brew, of the Melbourne East congregation, had an operation to remove a melanoma from the nasal area. Since that time she has undergone a second operation on her neck. Recent tests have shown that the cancer has spread to her liver, and the specialists have told her that she has only weeks to live. She is in constant severe pain, and to this point she is trying to do without morphine. There is nothing more that can be done for her medically, and she has placed her life in God's hands. Mrs Brew would appreciate your prayers, especially for the pain she is suffering, and also for her husband, Ken, who has to watch her deteriorating health.
