From Ken Treybig:
Normie Bourgeois is back in the hospital. She had been getting around fairly well after her stroke, but fell recently getting out of a vehicle and injured her good arm. The fall broke her wrist and chipped some bones in her elbow. The doctors removed the chips, set the wrist, and she's now in a rehabilitation hospital. She's in good spirits and is thankful for the high quality of therapy she is getting as she works to regain the use of her good arm and hand. She would appreciate prayers that the wrist heals properly. Her address is:

From Ken Treybig:
Here's a quick update on Normie Bourgeois. She is improved slightly, though she was unable to attend the Feast. She is slowly becoming more able to take care of herself in some ways and is very grateful for all the prayers and cards.

Normie Bourgeois wants to thank everyone for their prayers for her after her recent accident. She was able to come home from the hospital a couple of weeks ago and is hoping to attend services again this Sabbath for the first time since her stroke early last fall. She is in therapy three times each week and still has a problem with her balance and very little use of her left hand and arm. But she remains positive and thankful to all those who have prayed for and expressed their concern for her.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Normie Bourgeois is in good spirits and feels like she's making progress. She has no more pain from the skull fracture on her face, only has occasional pain from the collarbone and no pain from the ribs. Her fractured pelvis is also healing, as she was able to sleep on it last night with no pain. She has lost a lot of weight, and didn't have much of an appetite. But in the last few days she has gained back three pounds, and feels she's getting stronger each day with intense rehabilitation therapy. They are focusing the rehab in the hospital on her balance and walking. She is very grateful for all the expressions of love and concern in the form of prayers and cards. She would appreciate continued prayers for strength and her appetite.

Normie Bourgeois was greatly encouraged by the cards and letters from all over the world in response to the prayer request when she fell and broke her hip after her stoke last fall. She is in special need of prayers again. Last Thursday night a friend was driving her to her son's house to spend the night when the driver ran a stop sign and was hit by a drunk driver. The friend died later that night and Normie is in the hospital with numerous broken bones including a fractured pelvis (the opposite side from the hip that was replaced). This has been a very trying 6 months for her and she could use more prayers and encouragement.

Normie Bourgeois is getting rehabilitation therapy several times a week. Her hip is healing after the surgery and she remains in good spirits despite the lack of progress with her hand. She is still unsteady in walking as well. It encourages and strengthens her to realize many are concerned about her and praying for her.

Today Normie Bourgeois was able to go home from the hospital. She has improved enough that the doctors will allow her to live at home again. She still has to be careful to not put stress on her hip while it continues to heal, but she is very happy to be home. She has been receiving cards and notes from all over and is very grateful to know that people are praying for her all over the world.

Normie Bourgeois, a member of the New Orleans, LA congregation, had a stroke before the fall Feasts. She was slowly regaining the use of her left side when she recently fell and broke her left hip. This has obviously been a great setback for her. She had surgery to replace the ball in the hip and is still in the hospital. She is looking to God for intervention in her recovery and would appreciate prayers for successful healing from the hip replacement surgery as well as a full rehabilitation of her left arm, hand, leg and foot. She is a widow who lives in the Baton Rouge area and could use some cards or notes of encouragement.

Normie Bourgeois is slowly regaining the use of her left leg and foot as well as the arm after her stroke. She’s still having some problems with the hand, but says the therapy is helping a lot. She’s not sure how long it will be before she’s able to take care of herself at home, so she may be in the hospital for another week or two. Your continued prayers would be appreciated very much

Normie Bourgeois of the New Orleans congregation needs your prayers. Last Sabbath morning she suffered a stroke as she was getting ready to come to services. She spent most of the day on the floor until she was found around 4 PM. She is able to speak, but has some difficulty with her left side. She’s in Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge and says the doctors told her there was some swelling on the right side of her brain, which is causing the troubles on the left side of her body. She’s getting three different kinds of therapy and expects to be there through most of next week. Your prayers are requested for her complete recovery.
